Creating and Running Site Builder Jobs

The final stage in preparing a new Site Builder job is to create the job itself. To do this, click My Jobs and then New Job. Enter a suitable name for the job, and select the tool you wish to use (Site Builder in this example) and the feed you wish to work with.

After creating the job the next step is to complete the configuration. The contents of the Tool Settings panel varies depending upon the tool selected. In the case of the Site Builder tool, all you need to do is select the templates you wish to use for your index and product pages. When you have completed the configuration simply click Save and Run to start the job.

After starting the job you will be returned to the Job Summary page. Here, you can click Configure to go back to the configuration page for a job, or Run to start the job again if you have recently updated the associated feed.

Also on the Job Summary page alongside each item is the Output function. Click Output to download the results of your first Site Builder job. All you need to do then is unzip the file and upload your new website to your web hosting account!

Notice on the demo site how the Site Builder tool has automatically created filenames from the product names for maximum SEO effect. This means that when you come to rebuild the site from an updated feed any pages that you already have online will keep the same URL. You can even create a multi-tier categorised index from datafeeds that contain product category fields. (example multi-tier site)

Don't forget... The demo sites have had nothing added to the templates created by the Template Wizard except for Google AdSense code. You can incorporate as much or as little of your own HTML and JavaScript as you like to create beautiful, attractive datafeed websites.
